"Hi Genevieve, This is to thank you again
for the yoga class today that removed my lower back pain.
I thought it was due to old age and that I would have to learn to live
with it for the rest of my days. However, today's class removed the
pain and so I had to come back and let you know and also to thank you!
Best wishes."

"Hi Genevieve, I have attended your 10
a.m. class at Meadowmont on Saturdays and have really enjoyed
them—especially the lavender oil "gift" at the end of class! I
appreciate your attention in helping correct alignment.
It is one of the concerns I have about practicing at home since I
sometimes can't really tell if my foot is under my knee, for example. I
also benefit from you demonstrating poses prior to trying them myself.
It is very helpful to hear what you are focusing on as you do the
posture. (Your standing twist this past Saturday was beautiful!) Thank
you for teaching! I LOVE your class."
—Eleanor
"Hi Genevieve, I was in your yoga class
at Peak last Friday am complaining of low back pain. I wanted to tell
you that my back pain has been significantly better
since your class. So, thank you again. I wanted to let you know that
you did help."
—Judy H.
"Genevieve – just wanted to thank
you for a heart opening, tension taming class last
night at Meadowmont. I came to class with a splitting headache and was
avoiding medication for it. By the time class was over, the headache
and tension were gone.
Thank you & Namaste."

"I began Yoga one year after my first
total hip replacement. At the time, I had one artificial hip and
arthritis in the other. Even though the deterioration in my remaining
hip continued, my overall flexibility increased and I
achieved a greater range of motion. Because of Genevieve's sensitivity
to my physical issues and her gentle and encouraging nature as an
instructor, I was able to continue Yoga until 14 days before my second
total hip replacement. While I walked in and out with a cane, for one
hour, I felt as though I could 'dance' again. Together, we started on
the gentle road back to my participation in Yoga only three weeks after
my surgery and I was back in class after 7 weeks. While I give great
credit and respect to my surgeon's skills and abilities in my positive
outcome in both surgeries, I do believe that having participated in
Yoga before and after my second surgery sped my recovery
process. I believe that every person with arthritis whether or
not joint replacement is looming, should participate in Yoga with an
instructor who is in tune with their needs and limitations."

"Since taking yoga with Genevieve, my
massage therapist has commented that my usually tight back and
shoulders were totally different. The yoga hour is a great use
of time, and enjoyable. My tennis is better, too."
—Frances Henderson
"Genevieve has a certain way about her.
She teaches from her soul. She epitomizes the heart
and movement of what is yoga. She creates quiet spaces
in the midst of it all that allow the true yoga to seep in."
—Jim M., 40, Durham
"Genevieve has the grace and the
wisdom to teach a group of elders, each with their own
physical limitations. I left each time feeling stretched,
taller, breathing more fully, relaxed and grounded."
—Murry
"Genevieve has been practicing yoga for
many years and you can tell in her concise, detailed description
of the asanas, which makes them easy to follow. She
knows so many details about each asana it's quite remarkable. Genevieve
was an assistant in my yoga class and all my students loved her gentle,
subtle adjustments which took them deeper into the pose. I had
Genevieve sub a class for me and my students could only say great
things about her and the yoga class. Genevieve can take you on a
safe and deep journey into yoga with grace and full
understanding of the asanas using the breath, which is the key to
unlocking yourself form the mind. Anyone lucky enough to take
a class with Genevieve will have a well-thought-out
class with an understanding on how to take you to your edge.
Her classes are light, full of love and encouragement
to take you further than you think you can go.You will leave her class
feeling that you body, mind and spirit are now in harmony and working
together. I highly recommend a class with Genevieve."
—Paula Harnish, certified yoga teacher, March 2008
"My favorite thing about Genevieve's
classes, besides the energy, is the way her teaching accommodates
different abilities and bodies. I have some old athletic
injuries, and I know that her class will not exacerbate them!"
—C.B., 36, Carrboro
"I am a 73-year-old retired English
professor who has been taking Genevieve's yoga exercise class for
several months. I find it to be both physically and
psychologically beneficial. My doctor commented that my balance
has greatly improved and that the alignment of my body core was much
better. She strongly encouraged me to continue the class. I
also have noticed that my concentration has improved.
I would like to add that Genevieve has an empathy with her students
which is very helpful. The atmosphere of the class is pleasantly
informal and encourages us to challenge and explore the tenets of yoga.
In short, I would encourage anyone to take her classes.

I am a sixty year old grandma with
arthritis in most of my joints. Yoga allows me to stay flexible in
spite of this condition. I use yoga poses for pain management and for
lifting up my sagging spirit, especially on rainy days. I found
Genevieve's individual attention to each student is very generous. I
get an extra benefit from the particular poses, if I do it right. Even
seemingly minor adjustments to the way I hold my pose, could bring me
extra relief from pain or allow me to stretch the contracted muscles.
The choice of music she brings to her classes is also excellent.

Genevieve is a superb yoga instructor,
whose classes lift your spirits while training your body.
